In Vitro pH Activity of Ibrexafungerp Against Fluconazole-susceptible and -resistant Candida Isolates from Women with Vulvovaginal Candidiasis

The vaginal environment with candidiasis has a pH of 3.8-4.5 and this has a negative effect on the activity of antifungals. Ibrexafungerp was evaluated against 187 Candida isolates including fluconazole-sensitive and -resistant C. albicans, C. glabrata, C. krusei, C. parapsilosis, and C. tropicalis with media adjusted to pH 7.0 and pH 4.5. Ibrexafungerp MIC values were not adversely affected when tested at pH 4.5. Ibrexafungerp exhibited significant activity against all isolates at pH 4.5.

CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated the feasibility of the pragmatic metadata repository concept for medical documentation. Applications of the prototype in two use cases suggest that it facilitates the reuse of data elements. CONCLUSION: Both characterized EOs have a huge variety of chemical components. The Baqa al-Gharbiyye AC EO has more potent antioxidant and cytotoxic activities than the Umm al-Fahm EO, but both have potential antimicrobial activity against MRSA, P. vulgaris, and C. albicans. These results suggest the use of AC EOs as promising sources of active ingredients in the food, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries.
